Agree fully. And I am sure that they will handle the situation promptly!
Regardless of anyone’s position on the benefits of a single “Off” dot vs. multiple ones, I’m sure we can all agree that Arken’s illumination should simply work as designed…on every one of their riflescopes! If a customer is experiencing an issue with illumination, it should be properly addressed.
I personally like having the dots to indicate the off positions between the numbers. It makes it much more quick to turn it on, and back off again, at my preset illumination level. I found out with my Vortex Razor Gen2, that I had to look through the scope to make sure that the light was actually "OFF" when it was supposed to be, just to avoid the issues you were having.
Update on this post. On the 4th Battery I struck paydirt. I was using the dot between 1 & 6 for my off (most logical I thought) Killed 3 batteries, overnight. Decided to try one more time used the dot between 5 & 6 and still going strong after about 10 days. Arken customer support is aware of all of this and is looking into it. There is obviously an issue with the dot being off and not draining the battery. Other optics I have have only one off, they should try to change to something like that. At any rate they are sending me some more batteries, I can continue to use it, but one should not have to figure out what a reliable OFF should be.
UPDATE: I checked my riflescope last night and again just now. The battery is NOT dead and the illumination IS working correctly. I suggest that you try a new battery and if the problem continues, email Arken (vs. posting the problem on this Forum) for resolution.
Placing the switch on a dot apparently does not turn the illumination off because I installed the battery turned it to a level I liked them turned the switch to a dot between the numbers and when I went to use the illumination the battery was dead!
I would send it back and get a replacement since Arken says that they are in stock now the turnaround time shouldn't take long! The battery shouldn't drain when it's in the off position.
I am having the same issue. Last battery, knob was on a dot, still ate the battery up. Would be nice if Arken would respond
Just look at the illumination dial and ensure that the left-pointing arrow to the right of the left turret is pointing to any of the dots, instead of to a number.
