So I'm wondering if the UTG ACCU-SYNC 34mm High Pro cantilever scope mount being .86 inch saddle height is sufficient.
What is the minimum? Arken has .92 (23mm) saddle height on some products.
Will the EP5 56mm objective lens work with .86 (22mm) saddle height?
I agree with dschuetz68, as that is too tight! You don't want anything touching the optic, just as you don't want anything touching the barrel. Everything moves and flexes with recoil. If the optic is touching anything, it will be subjected to undue stresses. Best bet if the Halo Highs, and live with the 1/4".
So I just received the UTG (Leapers) 34mm medium height (1.26) QR type scope rings and it's true. I installed them and set my EP5 on them and the objective bell was resting on the picatinny rail of my AR15. These are the same height as the minimum height 1.26 34mm tube scope rings from Arken.
So arken recommends the high rings (1.45) or even 1.50 as Arken said in email. UTG Leapers 34mm QR scope rings are 1.46 height so I'll get those.
I wish Arken had QR levers on theirs. I want the quick detach option because I switch between thermal with QD levers.
The medium 1.26 to the high 1.45 (or UTG 1.46) is about a full quarter inch away from the picatinny rail.
Thanks for all the info! I think I solved this one.
It'll be extremely close.if I was a betting man,I would say it'll be too tight
