This helps a lot. Much appreciated. I want the EPL4 because of the weight at 24oz. This will go on a CZ 457. So I am still concerned about how it tracks? Even 1/10 MIL or 1/4 MOA off at distance can mean a missed shot. Also, how is the eye box? It says only 3.5" so probably not that forgiving. And the EPL4 does not have locking turrets, but i can live without that.
You probably think I am weird to ask these questions. What does this guy want for his $500, right? The Arken sales model is direct to consumer so they can offer a better scope with higher quality components for less money because they cut out the middle man. Tract Optics also does this, but they use German glass and assembly in Japan whereas Arken uses Japanese glass and assembly in China. Fair enough. I just don't want to buy and then feel like I made a mistake by not going with an Athlon Ares BTR or a Bushnell Match Pro, or even a Swampfox. Yes, all of these are more money but all have very favorable reviews.
I am sorry to hear about the EP5 because the EP series has the Japanese glass whereas the SH series has Chinese glass. I would expect the Japanese glass to be superior quality, clarity.
