Bore sight or use a laser scope mount kit to get you close enough to actually hit the paper target. Otherwise you may need to start much closer than 100 yds. Reset your turrets to the ”0” after you are grouping shots at your desired sight-in range. YouTube has videos on bore sighting after mounting or shooting a new scopes gun.

Randall I wish I had read your comments before I ordered my Halo rings. You are right on about using low Arken Halo rings for traditional set up even though I needed medium rings for my other rifle scopes on a 20MOA Picatinny rail. The Arken guys are continuing to provide great customer service even after the sale. As soon as I emailed them Josh replied with a return authorization for the 1.26 Halo rings I ordered by mistake. Nice job Arken!

if this helps: For the Arken SH-4 50mm bell, I found out that I needed the .92 inch “low“rings for use on a 20 MOA Picainny rail. The medium 1.26” turned out to be a full 1/2” above the barrel on a Tikka T1x.

Check out my July 15 post comparing that same Tract to the Arken Sh-4 and Bushnell Match Pro in low light conditions. You reminded me the Tract Toric has German glass and the scope is assembled in Japan.

I am real interested in the June 25th post "The glass is so clear." I received my Arken SH-4 Gen II yesterday so I set it up on a bench with two other 50mm scopes for comparison as the evening turned to dark. My Arken image is cloudy, a sort of smoky-white haze that worsens as you look toward the edges. Dirty glass or focusing is not the problem. I was able to read the separate black lines of a UPC label at 60 yards on 12x but its like looking through white smoke. The other scopes (Bushnell Match Pro 6-24x50mm and a Tract Toric 4-20x50mm) could also read the UPC label on 12x but had no haze. When the illumination was turned on it created a red halo 2/3rds larger than the lit-up center crosshairs; like shining through a morning fog. Surprisingly, the Arken SH-4 didn't worsen when the sun went down. The white smoke tint remained lighter as darkness came on and the black reticle and MILRAD numbers were more visible than the Match Pro reticle. Only the Japanese glass in the Tract Toric was better in low light. The Arken SH-4 has great turrets and smooth adjustment knobs. I so much want to keep it but the smoky-white interior must be a defect. I hope Arken offers to replace it with one so I can say: "the glass is so clear!"

How much of the reticle is illuminated on the SH-4 Gen II 6-24x50mm? if not the whole tree, can you see the rest of the lower reticle to choose holdovers in low light situations?
