Glass Comparison EP5 vs EPL4Reading online I couldn’t answer this; are they both Japanese glass and would the EP5 be considered a little better glass quality?

Depends on who you talk too, as to whether they are the same, or different. They are both Extra Low Dispersion glass. Me personally, I prefer the EP5 over the EPL4 that I have. They are both awesome, but I really like the EP5 characteristics. You won't go wrong with either.
